About Jake Tech Lab

Jake Tech Lab helps you choose between products without reading twenty reviews. We put options head to head, round by round, on the things that actually decide the purchase: price, performance, fees, coverage, support. Then we rank every option in a category from those results.

Today the site covers 41 categories, from monitors and graphics cards to VPNs, accounting software, credit cards and internet providers: 503 products across 1,340 head-to-head comparisons.

How the comparisons are made

Each comparison scores two products on several rounds. Every round is backed by a figure the maker or provider publishes, and most figures link to the page they came from, so you can check them yourself. A product's overall score is the average of its round scores across all of its comparisons. The full method is on how we rank.

Independence

We may earn a commission when you buy through some links, and the site may show ads. Neither affects which products we cover or how they rank: rankings come from scores only. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.
